DELAND – On May 31, Florida Hospital DeLand hosted the fifth annual Friends of the Foundation Golf Tournament at Victoria Hills Golf Club.
Despite a rain-soaked course, more than 50 players composing the tournaments 15 teams, enjoyed a great day of golf.
The tournament raised more than $20,000 which will benefit Florida Hospital DeLand’s Emergency Department renovations.
Despite having the second-highest volume in the county, Florida Hospital DeLand has the smallest number of beds in the area. The scheduled renovations will expand the hospital’s emergency department beds from 23 to 28, which will improve efficiency, shorten wait times and offer more amenities to patients. Patient rooms will be walled in and privacy curtains will be eliminated. Additionally, televisions will be added to patient rooms and new flooring, lighting and ceiling tiles will be installed.
