Florida Hospital DeLand and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial announced today that they have selected Dore J. Shepard RN, MHA, OCN, CENP, to serve as the West Volusia Director of Cancer Services for both Florida Hospitals. In this new role, Shepard will be responsible for developing and maintaining a cancer service line for both Florida Hospital Deland and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial.
With more than 25 years as a leader in oncology in Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania, Shepard comes to Florida Hospital after serving as Vice President of Cancer Services at John and Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center in Allentown, Pa. She has extensive experience at both a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center and a National Cancer Institute Community Cancer Center and has published and led numerous presentations regarding cancer and healthcare.
Shepard earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University in Michigan and a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from Central Michigan University. Additionally, she has taught leadership courses at Wayne State University and Henry Ford Community College.
In her career, Shepard has been recognized twice by the Advisory Board Oncology Roundtable for best practices in creating a culture of compassion and exceptional patient care experience. She is certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) and is an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
